Topic: A Look at Rock Creek Community College Speaker: Katherine Persson - President of Rock Creek Community College. The Rock Creek Campus is situated about 12 miles west of downtown Portland, in the rapidly growing Beaverton-Hillsboro area of Washington County. The campus' concrete and wood structures fit nicely into the rolling hill farmland, creating a pristine study environment. The Rock Creek Campus sits amid farm and wetland, perfect for PCC's Veterinary Technology, Landscape Technology and Biology programs. It is also a fine venue for its Diesel Service Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Auto Collision Repair, Building Construction Technology and Biotechnology programs. The 256-acre campus, by far the largest area of the three PCC campuses, provides a beautiful setting for college transfer and professional and technical programs. The campus is a model for successful partnerships with area high schools, and its science-technology building, completed in 1995, houses up-to-date laboratories and classrooms. The on-campus hangar houses the Aviation Maintenance Technology program where students can get hands-on experience maintaining airplanes and helicopters. |
