Reflections on Local Government

October 13, 2025

County Commissioner Jerry Willey will reflect on lessons learned during his two decades of service in elected office as City Councilor, Mayor, and County Commissioner as he enters his final year on the Board of Commissioners. He will also share his thoughts on issues that will most impact the County in the future and opportunities for growth and engagement.

October 23, 2025 Night Meeting at Kinton Grange or via Zoom

Washington County’s Community Participation Organization program will host an evening program on November Election Measures:

Measure 34-346: Replacement Local Option Levy for Countywide Public Safety Services

o   Funds public services including police, prosecution, mental health, domestic violence and other services. If passed, the measure would cost property owners $0.66 per $1,000 of assessed property value.

Measure 34-345: Replacement Levy to Support Countywide Library Services

o   Demand for digital materials has grown 34% over the past four years, and physical visits to library branches topped 2.4 million last year. Libraries hosted over 6,000 youth-focused events, serving more than 200,000 attendees. The proposed measure would cost property owners $0.37 per $1,000 of assessed property value
